Changshu Polyester held a meeting for middle-level cadres, engineering and technical personnel, and marketing personnel

2025-04-23

On April 15th, Cheng Jianliang, Chairman and General Manager of Changshu Polyester Co., Ltd., held a meeting with middle-level cadres, engineering and technical personnel, and marketing personnel to share his thoughts on the impact of the China US tariff game on the enterprise and response strategies.

In the first quarter, the company's production and sales were both prosperous, making it the year with significant profits in the first quarter since 2017, eight years ago. So far, the supply is still in short supply, inventory is still compressed, and there are almost no customer returns. It is not ruled out that the market will show signs of fatigue in 1-2 or even 3 months. However, the profits in the first half of the year have laid a good foundation for us to participate in full competition in the second half of the year.

The long filaments produced by the company correspond to downstream customers, and the affected sectors and varieties mainly include garden hose belts, pet belts, sewing thread industry, and core spun yarn industry. If both sides of the tariff war do not compromise, the above four industries will definitely be transmitted to us and affect our production capacity in the long run.

Based on the current situation, we need to improve our internal strength: firstly, diversify our products and adhere to the development direction of "small batch, multiple varieties, functionality, and differentiation"; The second is to strive for full load production, focusing on the five key tasks of safety, quality, high yield, low consumption, and open source and cost saving, and striving to practice. We must "dare to think, dare to try, dare to do, and dare to explore", and implement them layer by layer.

At the same time, we need to fully understand ourselves, our competitors, the market, and customers, leverage our strengths, avoid weaknesses, and not engage in unprepared battles.
